Delegate’s Theatre of Recruitment Dreams!
Having checked in 40 minutes before our flight departed it was time to chill out on the short flight thanks to FLYBE, I was suddenly reminded that this was a business trip and not a football weekend with the boys. My jeans and hooded top suddenly felt very out of place in amongst the Business travellers on this 2×2 plane. None the less after collecting our bags, we proceeded to train it to the city centre where our good friends Regus were awaiting our arrival, a few hours of work in the capital of the North West was followed up by meeting the Event organisers and exhibitors in the newly named Mercure Hotel, a very friendly and convenient spot.
We took a tram next morning out to Old Trafford, which actually took a lot less time than road transport. Old Trafford Cricket ground loomed in the distance, and the theatre of dreams a short distance beyond. The North Stand in Old Trafford, now known as the Alex Ferguson stand was Delegate’s new home for the next seven hours as we had a very successful fair with our friends at Eures. We met with several hundred candidates from all various nationalities, not to mention 18 different countries representatives from each of the EURES countries.
Each exhibition stand was there on hand to offer one to one advice, about living, working and relocating to different countries and most importantly to discuss career and job opportunities in the market. Employers from IT & Engineering sectors attended, Manchester United Old Trafford Ground were actively recruiting even organisations from Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism sectors such as Disneyland Paris were in attendance.
What an interesting and productive visit to this amazing venue! We look forward to attending more events organised by EURES throughout Europe in 2012, next stop GLASGOW in MARCH. Hope to see you there….
